What is all the hype about this year?
We’ve reorganized the traffic flow at the venue this time around. If you were there last year, you would remember front-to-back human traffic so this year there’s not gonna be ANY registration tables.
We’ve got some pretty good looking folk of the committee to walk around with tablets and iPads for you to register.
What will you get when you register on that day? An #OctTwtFest official bracelet that you can wear all year long in anticipation for next year’s OctTwtFest.
What was all the hype about last year?
Last year, we had performances, giveaways, competitions, a fashion show, a bazaar, a movie screening, a birthday celebration, you name it, we had it.
The mission was to break the world record of World’s Biggest Twtup. And we succeeded.
From the who’s who in the social media world to the average Joes & Janes from Perlis to Sabah, we submitted a total attendance of 2,615 people to The Guinness Book of Records and we had more people to turn up at the event which was not recorded.

Origin of OctTwtFest
So what exactly is this ‘Twtup’ (pronounced as tweet-up) we’ve been talking about? A Twtup is a meet-up/gathering for people who connect through Twitter. The idea of a twtup is to meet new people and meet new friends. OctTwtFest is a continuation of Oct23rdTwtup that was held on 23rd Oct 2010.
The idea was first sparked by @karrotgold who was thinking about having a ‘party’ for his birthday.
Because of the overwhelming response from tweeps (residents of Twitter), we decided to make this an annual event for the world’s social media communities.
